Zehnchronicity Thank You
01.05.03
transmission: website / voicemail
On
behalf of the entire Drop Bass Network crew we want to say THANKS to
everyone who attended our 10th annual New Year's Eve event Zehnchronicity
: A Soundtrack for Life held right here in our good old hometown of
Milwaukee USA. More than that, we want to thank you for the past ten
great years of New Year's celebrations!
Man oh man, TEN years...that's a long time to be doing the same thing
every December 31st. Over the last few years we've sworn up and down we
weren't going to be doing another DBN_NYE event. However, at the end of
the day we decided making it an even ten in a row couldn't hurt. And are
we glad we did...what a night it was! A great time was had by all
of us and it also seemed like most of the people in the place had a blast.
Everyone really needed another night like that one.
We've received an overwhelming amount of great feedback at the
event and since the event on our voicemails, through email, and in a number
of Midwest forums. Let us know
what you thought. We like to hear your comments; good, bad, or otherwise.
We also want to give a shout out to all of the performers who made
the the occasion memorable with a great night of music and to everyone
involved with the production who stepped it up and took the way a
party should look, sound, and feel to another level. Great stuff all around.
Don't forget we were celebrating for a cause with Zehnchronicity.
Everyone who came through the door was asked to pick who they would like
to see benefited from a list of thirteen local and national charities
and organizations.
A portion of the proceeds from the event was to be earmarked to benefit
these charities and organizations according to the percentage of votes
each received. At the end of the day 25% (yes 1/4th!) of the events
profit was donated. Originally we would have liked to donate something
to every one of the charities and organizations, but unfortunately we
fell a little short of the goal we hoped for. We decided instead to benefit
the top ten so that each of the donations would make more of a difference.
Here is the result (near 80% through the door submitted a vote):
Toys for Tots Foundation 12%
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) 11%
Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies 11%
Wisconsin Humane Society 10%
Habitat for Humanity International 9%
Nation Rifle Association 8%
American Second Harvest of Wisconsin 8%
American Red Cross 7%
Special Olympics 7%
Hunger Task Force 6%
Channel 10/36 Friends 4%
Unicef 4%
Dancesafe 3%
We thank you and so does each of the charities and organizations above.
Now doesn't that make you feel good about partying all night?
Have a great '03 and we'll see you on the bus this summer at Even
Furthur.
Kurt and the rest of the Drop Bass Network
